LG LDA 530 report

Well, I got to try out the new DVD player. So far I'm very impressed, it played everything I threw at it, inclucding some XviD files that refused to play on my old Lite-On. It seems to be region free from the factory, so no need to tinker with firmware upgrades or secret codes. The only downside so far is that there is no way (that I've found, at least) to show the remaining time on whichever file is playing, and it drives my better half a bit nuts.

Any clue how to get one of these in the States? The corporate retailers here have squashed all the decent divx machines here, and the 530 looks like one of the best. Futureshop, in their infinite wisdom, has decided they won't ship to USA.

I have no idea. I didn't know the MPAA had that much pull with retailers. I checked BestBuy (the US site) and they seem to carry other LG models, and also the Panasonic 642, which is also pretty good. Good luck!
